Among the other constituents of the index, Orient Green Power Company Ltd decreased 3.36% and RattanIndia Power Ltd lost 3.08% on the day. The S&P BSE Utilities index went up 94.96 % over last one year compared to the 20.74% surge in benchmark SENSEX.
Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd has added 10.81% over last one month compared to 8.16% gain in S&P BSE Utilities index and 0.14% drop in the SENSEX. On the BSE, 2.52 lakh shares were traded in the counter so far compared with average daily volumes of 54.24 lakh shares in the past one month. The stock hit a record high of Rs 23.99 on 12 Feb 2024. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 5.57 on 15 May 2023.

Such deceitful callers ask the customer to share his/her login credentials with passwords to allow trading in their accounts, assuring huge returns. Often trades done in the customer’s accounts are far from the best interest of the customers. Holdings of customers are often sold and with the funds, trades are then placed in illiquid securities at unrealistic prices. At times, the holdings of customers are sold at prices detrimental to the customer.
The so-called “portfolio manager” assures profits, which naturally does not materialize. Customers are deceived into providing access to their trading accounts, thereby allowing such fraudsters access to funds and securities available to execute trades, injurious to the customer’s interest.
We would like to caution you against such fraudulent calls and SMSes and urge you to be alert. Follow the golden rule:
